It fascinates me when cow and calf are separated for weaning and then when put back together again, even after 6 months they still know each other. My herd ofter seem to be in family groups. It just amazes me how family orientated they are. Is this just a Dexter thing?

Hi,

We have a rigg in our herd at the moment which i put a rubber ring on in his first week, but obviously not correctly!!

Is it safe to run him with our heifers, i.e. will he be fertile or not?

This sounds like potential disaster for all of us involved with beef from Traditional breeds. Is there any point in us all writing to our MPs and getting our customers to sign petitions.

Hi,

I had a heifer that was covered in big, ugly warts. She had them for around 6 months. In the last month, all but one of them has dropped off without any help from me.

Hi Inger, Our calf is thriving, and very cute, although still small! I think he is just short-legged, but as he was our first I didn't realise how tiny they are. He is very dinky compared to our non-shorts.
