BD2 carriers have Meadowpark Charles in their breeding, an upgraded 4th cross NZ-bred bull, from before the time when dams had to be 4th cross before a son could be registered here. His breeding is registered as B.Robert/ B.Robert/ BenMacdhui/ BenMacdhui, neither of which bulls is a carrier for eit...

PeterO, how can she be registered 'long-leg' if she hasn't been tested? Does the NZ association just take a person's word for it? What about bulls, are they just guessed at also? That doesn't seem to make sense to me. Clive, that would be the last thing any of us we need. There are already 2 tests ...

You seem to imply that you can register as long or short simply on guess work. That would surprise me but I am not up with the workings of NZ registration. I presume that DNA for PV would be essential at least, would that be so, PeterO? Is it more likely that the parents are not actually tested, an...

Stephanie, thank you again. This is Bonfire, by Elmwood Robson from an Outlaw cow, who is from a Bogevagen Hector (Knotting) cow. She belongs to a grandson, his choice, so is here to stay. Her skin is black, pity about the muzzle. The black facial hair is a winter coat marking, which is not there w...

The wild red has black skin and true red has pale skin. Cornahir Outlaw is a wild red, and the others are true red, like the Knottings, etc., with the pale ring around the eyes. There is a big difference in the phenotype. Wild red is dark because of the black hairs, and can be very dark at times. W...

Given the history of this particular steer, it is more likely that he has a megalomania problem associated with herd dynamics. He could be a rig, but that does not explain his aggressive/defensive behaviour. When Palm Chat died, nobody, neither bovine nor human, challenged his ascendency into the v...
