Thanks Duncan,
Is the measurement taken at the shoulder? My two girls are 104cm and 107cm, but are considerably shorter than most non-shorts I have seen. I am not thinking of showing them or anything, just interested,
Helen

Dexter Size
I have been reading the Dexter Society webside and noticed the size of the breed is given as 92 - 107cms. Is this for a short? If so, what is the usual size range for a non-short?

Yes I have got one through, not as quickly as previously though. I don't like it. So much easier to mislay a single piece of paper

Re: Winter feed
Our four were in from november to the beginning of march and ate two of the rectagular bales between them per day. They also ate some of the straw each time we put fresh stuff in.They came out looking well on it.

Re: North of England Dexter Group Calf show
I would have liked to come, Ann, but we will be in Norfolk that weekend. I have recently spent 2 weeks near Thirsk while my daughter did work experience. I loved the area and would have been glad of an excuse to go back.

Re: First trip to abattoir
Thank you for your help and reassurance Ann and Clive. You were right - it all went smoothly and everyone was very helpful to us first timers. I didn't think I would, but I did shed a tear or two as we drove away. Ours is such a small herd and we are in the field with them several times a day so I g...

Hi, Betty's sire is Brambledel Redberry Prince. Her dam is also on the shorter side, but not this short. I'm not that bothered about her lack of height though, she has the most wonderful temperament, and I wasn't planning on using a short bull on her anyway. I was just curious. There is so much to ...
