We have never taken part in linear but think it a bit odd that the classifications are not put on Grassroots immediately after assessments.
Who is responsible for doing this? Is is Holstein, Grassroots or The Society?

Re: DCS AGM postponed
Well the first session of the AGM is over. At times a difficult meeting. The revelations and discussions on the financial difficulties and governance failures leaves even me astounded. Some items could not even be discussed because of legal restrictions. Two existing Trustees resigned and three new ...

Re: DCS AGM postponed
I am overseas at the moment and do not have reference to my legal papers. In answer to Ted Neal, to the best of my knowledge, permission to shorten notice of meeting must be granted by 90% of the membership. That is the TOTAL membership not just those attending the meeting. That means around 1260 po...

Re: DCS AGM postponed
Jac I hope not. £1750 I have heard was the cost of having a Solicitor present at the AGM last year for about an hour. The one response reported in the minutes was wrong but no one seems to have noticed. That is about £1.50 taken from each member , by Council, and handed to a solicitor for nothing. I...

Re: DCS AGM postponed
Mark There may be a General meeting on the 14th Oct but it will not conduct the business of an AGM. You,the Directors, are legally required to present the Directors report and Financial statements to the members for approval at that meeting and publication to the members must be madeavailable 21 day...

Re: DCS AGM postponed
Di I received some paperwork today. Postmarked 22.09.17 second class so it was already late before it was posted. A confusing proxy form or is it a voting paper? I do not want to appoint a proxy so is my vote for new Council members going to be accepted at the AGM? Apparently at the previous AGM in ...

Re: DCS AGM postponed
Are we there again? 21 day deadline has passed for receipt of AGM papers therefore legality of business is no longer valid. I have already booked flights and hotels, will my expenditure be validated or refunded? Last year Di could not offer an opinion as she was not a Council member, this year she i...

[quote= Now, how many of the candidates proposed for election and claiming to improve/progress the breed fall within GBS definition?[/quote] Louisa Your posts are usually serious and scientific but this time I came to another conclusion. I did not understand the above GBS definition so I googled it ...

Re: AGM Ref Resolution 4
Ann You are right. The present shambles contradicts everthing in our constitution. The secret vote to an independent scrutineer has vanished. Now send in your proxy form to the office and therefore tell the staff who you are voting for or mark your form 'discretionary' and hand youry nominated proxy...

Your words 'I agree there is a lot of merit in what you say' about an article written by Duncan which I have described as excellent.
I do not think I got it wrong and I have not implied that my version was a quotation.

[quote= The Directors Report and Accounts for 2015 are published on Companies House website if anyone is interested. They should of course have been sent to members first. There have been several opportunities to include in a mailing as they were approved on 6th July. I have now received a copy of t...

Re: Current state of the Dexter Cattle Society
Mark I am glad that you agree with the excellent summary of present governance chaos within our Society which has been posted by Duncan. You would appear to have been party to the rejection of that resolution. We have not been given a reason why it was rejected but there was a clue in a letter to us...

Re: D. C. S. Council Criticism
As joint proposer to the resolution to remove members of Council I feel entitled to reply to comments Di claims we are criticising Council. In my opinion this is a poor choice of words. We are highlighting a problem which has been ongoing or many months when Council have failed or refused to answer ...

Good publicity on BBC 1 this week for Dexter beef. Local producer and member of the beef scheme, Damien Tumelty, showed his herd and spoke about the importance of grass fed beef production. The chef went on to cook T-bone steak as a Christmas treat. It was a NI regional programme but ahould be avail...
