Re: Bull Beef

I have produced bull beef but it was 30 months old. It was really lean with an amazing flavour but it was grass fed and left to mature slowly. I took two together and to a tiny abattoir that you book a slot so the stress was not as bad as it could be. Our abattoir was amazing with them and handled t...

Re: Wanted to Hire - red or black bull.

HI,, thank you for your reply. I really need one by June as we have terrible horse flies here and I don't like the cow calving to late if possible. I have no problem collecting from anywhere - we are in the West Midlands.

I think the height issue is always a difficult one. With connemara ponies if a pony is over height regardless whether it has purebred parents it goes into a different section of the stud book or the standard of the breed would go and we would end up with connemara horses rather than ponies. This wh...

We are having to do a serious herd reduction as we have too many animals and it is no longer practical to market the beef commercially. We will keep a few cows for table beef and for our friends but the rest must go. We have a number of cows, several heifers short and non short black and dun for sa...

Thanks for that Clive, but I don't have anything to weigh the steers with so I wouldn't know much they weigh hence wanting a rough price per animal. We have too few steers to be able to sell effectively and at the moment it is a small part of what we do, so the time to try and sell is simply not ef...

I wonder if anyone can help please. I have decided to sell my steers after finding that is not viable to go through the slaughter and sale for meat. I still love my cows and enjoy breeding them and will keep a steer a year for our freezer. I am not sure how to price. I have seen other ads saying fr...

How does the cabling work. As our building is a good 5 mins from the tv side of the cctv they would have to be extensive cables.

We were quoted nearly £600 for cabling and basic tv.

I am really sorry to hear about your calf and foal. I lost a calf last year and was devastaed. I also sat up and mist my foaling but was really lucky all was ok. I looked into cctv as our foaling / calving barn in 5 mins walk. It is so expensive though but as we use the barn for both cow and horses...
