I have spoken to cattle farmers and some say they would never keep dexters as they can be cross especially round dogs and you cant keep them in.

Just a quick question A cow valued at £500 will she have a small slow growing calves and her £1000 counterpart have a fast growing calves with longer a breeding span. Hi folks, here is another question in my cow handling education How do get a freshly calved cow to take on an extra calf? Do you need a calf waiting until she calves or can you try to put one on 24 hours after she calves (ie 24 hours to get one) By the way daisy up and running about no worse for me ...

Hi Folks Cow has calved (thanks for advice in past, but i was not needed or involved) but now the problem seems to be in getting the calve to suck. I am used to giving artificial colostrum to lambs via either a bottle or a tube, but this is my first step into keeping cattle. As i work out i thought it might be better to have some just in case, I just have no idea how much i should give them if necessary

Thanks folks for feedback so far . Hi Folks
Cows hopefully calving in next few weeks . Any suggestions other than keeping close eye on them.
Also what do i do to register them?
Is it worth registering bull calves or better castrating straight away
New to all this as just starting up, any advice most welcome

Sorry when i said about AA being rare, i might have been better saying not so popular 20 years ago. When perhaps when they were a smaller size more like dexters
