I decided this year that I was going to run the steer on and try produce some dexter meat for family and friends. However it didnt work, as result I ended up just haltering her and feeding her whilst he drank. I dont have crushs or anything only keeping ...

Re: Grumpy Dexter
She occasionally has days close to this but nothing quite as bad as how grumpy she was. Nothing appeared wrong, she wasnt lame and outwardly appeared fine. Once she came over for food she did munch on the hard food and pushed off the younger ones. Just looked out the window and shes eating grass. So...

Grumpy Dexter
One of my Dexters today is being an absolute evil little thing!! I walked into the field and she stayed away, as a result I ignored her and did the others food and water when she eventually decided to come over I walked behind her and she swiped her leg out at me. Normally she is lovely and is first...

Re: Red Dexter black nose
Is there a way to upload pictures to show you? I also find it really helpful as I said im a novice and did just get a little disheartened as I studied the breed standard or so I thought when I bought her to try and get a nice heifer, hence why I just wanted opinions, I value all thoughts on the matt...

Re: Red Dexter black nose
I cant figure out how to upload a picture to show you, however I would say it is the colour of your cow you mentioned. Siobhan ended up coming 3rd and the judge said she could of come first had it not been for the black nose and feet. At the time she was rearing twins and I believe is a really nice ...

Re: Dexter With Follicular Cysts
We had some Irish Moiled cattle with this problem, one of our best show heifers in fact. She had problems getting in calf and so the vet came out and diagnosed cysts. Something was injected and we prid her she managed to get in calf, however then had to have a caesarean and in fact had a fully forme...
