Re: Dexter beef boxes?

But surely that link refers to additional labelling of the product and as I don't intend sticking "additional labels" on then I'm OK. The people I intend selling to are people that have seen my Dexters reared traditionally on grass - so what do I say if they ask me what breed the beef came...

Re: Dexter beef boxes?

Thanks for your replies, I can see it's going to be as straightforward as I thought, my steers are 27 months and well grown so I'm hoping for a decent result. I'm not sure why I can't call them Dexters that seems like the Yorkshire pudding and Cheddar cheese thing. Anyway I'll have to get my thinkin...

Dexter beef boxes?

At last I have my first two steers ready for kill my only problem is not enough space in the freezer! Consequently I need to sell some of the beef but never having done this before I am confused as to the best way to go about it. I have a slaughterhouse and butcher in mind but I feel sure he will as...

To castrate or not

I've read previous posts on castration but just wondered if anyone has any suggestions as I'm new to the dexter game! I've got two non short dexters that have both given birth to bull calves, my intention is to rear them for meat on my small acreage. My vet advised not to use castration rings as he ...

Re: 4x4 insurance, any recomendations

Just been thru the same problem with NFU ended up with Halifax fully comp bonus protected and covered for towing £187 ( that with full NCB) NFU wanted £467.03 for a Land rover Discovery. Trailers are insured on another policy. I did that meerkat thing on line!
