I hang the meat myself, and they had 'gone' within a few days, when I collected the meat, even though I had requested when I dropped off the animal that they were returned. I just wanted others to be aware. John Law

Just a cautionary note, when looking at costs of slaughtering. The last Dexter steer I had killed, came back without liver, heart, kidney or tail, which had been kept by the abbatoir to sell on. After a serious 'debate' they accepted that they were in the wrong and offered to supply me with alterna...

The article does convey a very one sided view, and totally different from the experience of most Dexter Breeders. Unfortunately it is negative comments like this that can have along lasting effect.

Are Bakers at Nailsea, just south of Bristol any better. They will cut them up for you.
They kill my Dexter Steers, but I hang and cut them myself

Originally it (OTMS) was due to come off in Sept, but I think it has been delayed til a bunch of EU vets check our BSE Testing ability ( each OTM animal will have to be tested )
The last I heard it is possibly October'ish
