Wonder if anyone can help ? Have had two beasts back today ...the older one was graded 0+5L and the younger one was graded -04H , I have looked at Broomcroft's website ( very kind of you to post the info) , but in my inexperience I am having trouble deciding whether my beasts were good bad or indiff...

Oh how sad, poor you finding him like that. we use the tombstone feeders as we also have horses but i have tended to find that my cattle waste much more haylage. i also have found that the younger and therefore smaller animals struggle to reach over as the ones i have , the solid metal part is tall...

thankyou all so much for your advice and concern
went back up in the night got him latched on and then left knowing he was full. when we got back to the barn at 6.30 this morning it looks like he has been feeding on his own on her other side so i'm really relieved !

My vet is coming out today to sort the old girl out but will certainly follow advice for next year and if I have the same problem again I will definately try Inger's receipe.

Thankyou guys !
When do you need to give the vitamin injection or drench in the farming calender ......ie how long after bulling or what time of year etc etc..
My other cows ( all 3 of them ! ) calved fine and cleansed fine.
