I know Farmrite sell weigh bands (which you can buy over the Internet) - I have one and is easy to use - but not sure about accuracy (as I have no other way of weighing them to compare!)

Now I'm no computer expert either - but I did discover the other day a little magnifying glass symbol and "100%" in the bottom right hand corner of the screen - which allows me to zoom in and out on websites - very handy for failing eyesight (as well as getting whole width on screen) Alis...

Got up early to finish writing Christmas cards and got way-laid by the new bulletin - read it cover to cover - congratulations to all involved (and sorry to those whose cards will be a bit late as a result!!). It really is a thoroughly good read. :)

Martin - as I understand it at the moment, people are calling for an early election to rectify the problems with having an essentially unelected group/steering committee. This then becomes a bit Catch22 - as if the election is held prior to re-writing the constitution, as you point out, we would ha...

Thanks for this Duncan. I've found plants with the tops eaten, but no exposed roots - so it looks unlikely to be poisoning. Are the Vetremex and Ketol the same as an electrolyte? It's always such a worry when they look so bad and you just wish they could tell you what's the matter.

I have an ill Belted Galloway and am wondering if she's eaten Hemlock Water Dropwort. We have plants of it along the river and my Dexters have always ignored it - so have not worried about it before. We found the Beltie looking very sorry for herself yesterday - v. lethargic, scouring and her coat ...

I have read that "grass-fed" beef has higher amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and lower cholesterol. I expect most Dexter beef is more grass fed than commercail/continental. I would love to know if anyone can confirm this - is there any reliable, accessible research anywhere? I know Omega-3...

My daughter and I fight over the bulletin whenever it drops through the letter box (as it has just done today - she's reading it now whilst I make do with the discussion board). The most important thing is to encourage contributions - it's only ever going to be as good as the articles submitted and...

OK - so I've been puzzling about inheritance of colours in Dexters. It looks like black is dominant and red recessive - so you'd expect two reds to always have a red - but is that so? In an idle (really idle?) moment I'm sure I found an exception to this in the herd book. And then how do Duns work?...
